The 5ASide Cup will see eight cut down to 4 this weekend with the Quarter Final 2nd legs. All four ties are evenly balanced, with the results having potentially season defining outcomes.

In particular, One Flew Over Lukaku’s Nest versus AC Spartak Cheese sees two managers who have channeled all efforts into this years cup go head-to-head after a pulsating 1st leg.

Manager Pritchard Snr is hopeful he can make what will be his first ever 5ASide Cup semi final appearance:

"This is all we really have to play for now, aside from a mid table finish. There’s a positive mood in the camp for sure, although the lead is slender. We’re hoping for another similar weekend [to last], but who knows. At least Spartak don’t have Shaquiri! We’re keen to bring home the bespoke, light up trophy, sourced by Peggsie back in December."

Manager Lucchesi, who slipped into the bottom 2 last week in an attempt to secure a Semi Final place, is clear that winning this trophy could save an otherwise forgettable season:

"It would be stating the obvious to say that we are not where any of us want to be in the league. It’s been a grind of a season with several key players not performing anywhere near the standard we needed. There have been a couple of decent signings but overall it’s a team that will be easily forgotten by what remains of the Spartak supporters."

"Silverware matters and would go some way to boosting everyone affiliated with the club. We threw everything at the first leg and still came up short. We get to go again so let’s hope the stars finally align."

Scott Pritchard has picked up his second MOTM award for the season as 1860 Munson top the form guide for January.

1860 Munson almost hit the two-ton mark in the 4 game month of January, thanks to particular efforts from Brooks, Jota and Aubameyang. Pritchard also finished 2nd in the 5ASide cup qualifying with an additional 43 points. Could Munson become a surprise late challenger for the title, or indeed secure a 3rd 5Aside Cup honour:

"Who knows? Long way to go but the pressure is surely on the other sides that have been in the top 4 all season. Dale has obviously strolled the title but other positions look up for grabs...and we have a good record in the [5aside] cup."

It was also a good months for Rob Dale and Ross Peggs, while Manager Edwards dipped in form compared to his previous two months. Lowest scorer of the month was Manager Patterson, who only managed an average of 24 per week in January.
