After two or three seasons in the darkness, two time SFP Champions Spartak Cheese have emerged as one of the early pacesetters, and manager Lucchesi is loving it.

After a thumping 63 point week, camp Spartak find themselves within a point of top spot, a postion they've not held since the opening day of the 2013/14 season. Whilst he's not celebrating just yet, manager Lucchesi is in bouyant mood:
"Boom!!! I must admit, I'm enjoying this season a 100 times more already compared to last year. So much nicer when you feel competitive and that you're not just making up numbers."
"I wouldn’t want to tempt fate... but that said, I’m happy that I held my nerve during Silly September and have tried to learn from the last two seasons, which have been rotten. I have defenders who start, a midfield that ticks over and a forward line that could catch fire. The future hasn’t been this bright for about 3 seasons."

After a wait of almost six years, or 72 months, Pritchard Senior returns to the top of the SFP table.
He was last in pole position on the 24 September 2011, and has still never managed a better-than-midtable finish in 16 seasons. Could this be the start of something:
"Obviously we are delighted with our start to the season and we're enjoying it, but nothing is won in September. It's nice to have returned to the SFP summit after such a long time, but now we must sustain it."
"We have a team which can compete this year so hopefully in April we will still be at the right end of the table."

Baynes Senior is satisfied that he has done enough in the window thus far to get his season back on track.

All six signings were made early this week, with Jese Rodriquez being the marquee man. The Q-Dog was pleased with his purchases:
"Having had an injury plagued start to the season Perdoc Byzeusthians are delighted with the work done in this transfer window. More strength and depth has been added all through the squad with some steady workers and exciting new talent.
Deftly executing our recruitment strategy in an efficient manner we are happy to wrap up our business early. Real work can now begin to be ready for the weekend fixtures without the distraction of last minute deal making. Just a few key players still working their way back to fitness. Overall we are very confident in what this squad can achieve."

Inter Yourmum FC chief McNamara has claimed he is now ready for a title shot.

Putting last season's disappointment behind him, he's come out all guns blazing after a positive window:
"I'll put it out there - I feel like this squad is going to be challenging! It's possibly my best ever. IYM FC has bought well during this window, we've added Gueye and Fernandinho in midfield and of course our marquee signing Wilfried Bony."
"I came back to this franchise with top 4 in mind but with the likes of Aguero , martial and Bony upfront backed up by a fit again eden Hazard , Theo Walcott , Fernandinho amongst others In midfield I really have the feeling that this could be the season I clinch my first title."
"Our defense is solid and with Barkley to return around Christmas time it only adds to the positive thoughts around the club."

After almost 18 months since he was last there, Rob Dale tops the pile for the opening month, giving the first MOTM award of the season.
More to follow ...

It's been it's usual silly self this September, but two managers have been keen to show off their new signings.

On saturday, it was Inter Yourmum FC chief Ed McNamara who was quick to welcome his latest addition:
"We welcome Wilfried Bony to the Claudia Winkleman Arena . We set out our stall to get 'big wilf' during the summer but it took a full on assault today to finalize the deal. We were also desperate to get a player who's name rhymes with pony. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED !

Meanwhile, on Sunday defending champions Atletico Magicmen unveiled their latest signings as deals were struck with Wheeler Dealers and Under Pressure:
"It's been a successful window so far. Mason Holgate gives us further options and strength at the back, while Manolo Gabbiadini, with 5 goals in 13 starts, strengthens our forward options."
"I now believe we have a stronger squad than last season, with much more flexibiliy and cover in every position. We are perfectly poised to challenge Rob-O-Klopp in our title defence. There may even be room for one final 'Galactico'."
